You know there are always bands your relatives dont want you to like, and then the bands they seem to want you to like. I got 3 Pearl Jam cds, but one of them had no disc in it which i thought was really funny, but my Mom thought it was like a sign of the Apocalypse.

On the other hand i didn't get the 3 legged doggy cd (AIC self titled).

My brother goes ballistic over gifts, he always bitches about my dad not getting him enough gifts. Giving gifts is supposed to be fun for Gods sake. I mean my brother never gives anyone anything.
So I think my little cousin who im not going to name even though no one reads this is now the officially most annoying, because the former most annoying matured and is now un-annoying and actually kind of funny. But I was with the older cousins (older being like ten instead of like five) and they kept trying to get rid of the little one and I was like "you guys did that to me, that is my life story" and they kept going "can you see if dinner is ready?" to the little one, which i never thought to do. Then they asked my moms boyfriends kids when they joined the family which typically your not supposed to ask.

I also got a new camera and it has a baby setting, like for taking pictures of baby's haha.

My brother got an 8gb ipod and I have a 4gb, that shouldn't upset me but it does because he dosn't even listen to music. He also deleted the songs my moms boyfriend put on it which pissed me off because i wanted to put "anouther brick in the wall" in my itunes.

How Fall Out Boy/Fuled by Ramen type bands ruined the definition of alternative part one

Middle School aged girls in abercrombie shirts sitting in the balcony, high school freshmen wearing clip on bows in their hair in the “mosh pit”. This isn’t a Britney Spears concert, It’s a Fall Out Boy, (supposedly an “alternative” band) concert.

You cant mosh to pop music, nor can you claim shopping at hot topic makes you individual, but try telling this to 12 year old girls who claim to be “really alternative” and “listen to really deep music.” How do I know? I was one of them, just not to the same existent. What I’m describing is my first concert, although I didn’t get the real experience because of the commercialization of the band.

Rewind to 1992, where if these 12 year old girls were generation Xers. They’d be in flannel shirts and ripped jeans, at a Nirvana show, and as Cobain looks down at his audience he thinks to himself “what the hell have I done.” Of course when Pete Wentz looks at his audience made up of mostly 10-15 year old girls in his audience, he probably thinks “oh this is the age were parents buy there kids anything.” Maybe he really thinks he’s a real artist, but his record label knows he’s not.

This isn’t a diss on major label bands, nor is it a diss on naïve 12 year old girls. It’s a diss on modern “rock” music. Other then a few original indie acts (Bright Eyes), bands from better eras in music still going (R.E.M, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers) or a few good mainstream rock acts (Foo Fighters) modern music pretty much sucks. Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Metro Station, etc. all sound the same. All put more effort into their hair and makeup (yes they are dudes) then their music. Remind you of anything earlier?....

Yes I am associating Hair Metal with Pop “Punk”. The biggest difference is hair bands where not as fond of pretending to be sensitive or artistic as modern Pop “Punk” bands are. So I am actually, to some extent, suggesting that hair metal is more real then Pop “punk”.

How do we know Pop “punk” isn’t real? It’s not original, they all sound the same.

So I honestly think the first four videos and the hair metal videos are more alike then the first four videos and the grunge/alternative videos.


It’s noticeable in the lyrics as well. Alternative bands tend to have lyrics that are more metaphoric and less repetitive.

I could keep giving examples but I think my point is proven. Modern day pop rock bands are more close to hair metal then alternative. The Metro Station video/song is about sex. The pop "punk" and the pop "metal" bands are much more glitzy, while the grunge ones are more emotional influenced, but without being whiney.

Time to find corupt guy to replace Blagojevich and get arrested later

So our govener has finnally been caught for his douchebaggery. Big shock no not really this is Illinois. Yes between all those exsplicitives the news blocks out he was saying he was doing something illegil. (funny how they block out profanity but dont give warnings for graphicly detailed violence on tv, I guess they go by the WalMart ethic thats its ok to shoot people as long as no one says any bad words.)

But you know what? I finnally figured out my problem. I try to hard. See this weekend i decided to study for my math test which i dont normally do. I get it back and I have a 26% thats the lowest grade i have gotten in like 5 years. Now i whould LOVE to not care and be able to get on with my life, that whould be much easyer. Sadly I have been slightly effected by the system.

Now I know they say caring is better because then you can make something of yourself if you get good grades. Well you know what most of the kids who get good grades and shit grow up to be?...Buisness men/woman, corporate lawyers,CEOs etc. Those people make nothing of themselfs, they just sit at an office and support corperations, how is that any better then sitting at home and smoking pot all day?

It's a loose-loose situation really.

I think Alice In Chains is pretty much my new favorite band. Although i do find it disrespectful that they replaced Layne with the new guy. I mean i dont have anything against the new guy as a person it's just Layne's voice was very unique and cannot be replaced. EDIT-THE NEW GUY IS ACTUALLY OK SEE HOW OPEN MINDED I AM THE NEW GUY NO LONGER PISSES ME OFF.

But anyway Dr. Wax went out of business but i found a new place called 2nd hand tunes and it has a pretty good selection. If that goes out of business i will probably have to download illegally because i am not paying full price for new cds. I dont understand why those businesses die i mean you'd think people would like less expensive cds especially because people just burn them onto their ipods. But cds in general are not doing good because people just download the top ten on itunes and then when it gets "old" or not on the charts anymore they delete it. The one good chart song is paper planes by MIA but that is only popular because it was in that movie.

Anyways for positive..... I have been looking for new music and discovered the following bands in the past two months or so

Eddie Vedder was nominated for a grammy, this is bad because now ten year old girls will be like "who? oh well if he was nominated for a grammy he must be good!" and then download it and be like "OMGZ VEDDER IS SO KEWLLL OMG DO U KNOW WHO HE IS OMG" and i'll be like "yes i know who he is he is from pearl jam a popular band from the 90s" and then they will either be like "OMGZ THE 90Z THATS SO OLD EWWWW" or "OMGZ I AM SO GRUNGE".

So at school we are learning about greek philosophers and as soon as the unit started the first thing i thought was "this is ironic". See the greek philosophers all thought differently, something not encouraged in schools. We are all supposed to think alike. In fact i wouldn't even use the word think because thinking results in knowledge, and knowledge technically means understanding and analyzing the world around you, which is also not encouraged.

See in school we dont learn to learn. It works more like this....

memorizing gets good, good grades are not important because they show you have picked up knowledge they are only there for making the school look good and getting into good school. A good school of course is not a school where people challenge the system and think creatively, a good school is a school that costs a lot and gives you a lot of busywork and of course ranks high because the students there can all afford private tutors and dont have to work a job. Then after your done with school now that you have a peace of paper called a degree that determends your worth in society you can get a job, ideal jobs would be working for a cooperation or being a lawyer who represents cooperate organizations. These jobs will pay a lot and that some how makes you happy in life.

but thats probably not what Socrates thought. So why are we learning this? well because freshman learning philosophy makes the school look good. Not because it's interesting, infact they didnt do a very good job draining the interesting parts out of it. See these philosophers would be taught by other philosophers and sometimes DISAGREE with what their teachers said. That in modern times would most likely result in a bad grade.

Anyways i got extended detention for going on yahoo music when i was done with my school work. It was rather boring.
